The west coast has had a pretty mild winter so far. Most winters, those of us living at higher elevations will get a little snow.
Pacific Northwest Winter
My daughter and our springer, Layla
Are you getting cozy by a fire?
When the weather gets bad some women wear a boot around town and carry their heels.
What do you wear in the snow?
Pacific Northwest winters are always wet and muddy. As much as I enjoy a pretty heel, it's just not practical. This makes it particularly challenging for work attire.
On a cold winter day .. if you are lucky enough to NOT have to go anywhere, or can't get out of the house.. what do you enjoy doing?
I put on lounge wear, do a little putzing around the house, or sometimes treat myself to a spa day {at home}.
This week I received a box of bath and body products that will be put to good use over the weekend. If your preference is floral, you will enjoy this line.

If you don't have spa essentials at home, make your own scrub by mixing one art coconut oil to two parts sugar. Your favorite essential oil can be added.
I'm mixing a little sugar, coconut oil, and lemon.
Stacey from Design Addict Mom posted a fun DIY Green Tea mask and discusses the beautiful spa experience, here
Munch on berries..
Satisfy your sweet tooth;)
Garden .. indoors!
I like the blue and white on warm wood..
..and I like white and blue on white!

Here are mine all lined up! They look so pretty when they are all a-glow!
We have a main office however it's become more of a man-cave ..post kids. I've adopted this little space off the kitchen. It's small but gives me easy access to my computer and calendar which, as you see is a dorky, large, flip calendar. I need to see an overview of my daily schedule.. sitting RIGHT in front of me.
Maybe I'll make a little French Press coffee. Do you like it? It's delicious but doesn't stay warm in the carafe.
my girls:)
Layla and Ginger having another rough day!
Hope you have a warm ;) and wonderful week ahead.

A spa treatment on a cold winter day sounds amazing... Have a nice week!
ReplyDeleteLayla and Ginger - so adorable and posing perfectly! Look at tall that snow! It hailed here for tab out 30 seconds and I was hoping I'd suddenly hear silence but no such luck. :). Totally inspired by your spa pics. I'm making my appointment at Burke Williams today! Have a wonderful week. xoxo
ReplyDeleteI want the MOU faux fur boots! And to go on a spa soon! great post! xo Caroline
ReplyDeleteWe've had more snow in one weekend than we had all year last year so we headed to the slopes and made the best of it! The drive home was a little surreal... Perhaps next time, we'll stay home and stay cozy! Love how your "girls" lounge around like ours.

lots of snow days over here! i find myself relaxing and reading more than tackling the home improvement projects hanging over my head! i like you at home spa ideas. i really do. it's something kind to do for yourself that is bound to end up helping others ultimately. i'm just learning such things. i love baking when the wind is howling like today, with a little food network in the background.
ReplyDeletehappy monday to you, snowbunny.

Leslie,
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea...a personal, in-home spa day. I do love the unexpected "free" day to putz and putter around the house in comfy clothing, sipping a latte. If it's raining I'll put a fire in the grate and grab a stack of nesting magazines to weed out, I get behind very quickly on the whole magazine front. I may have to try that recipe for the homemade scrub, thanks so much. There's nothing better than have your dog by you on a stay at home day.
Karen
Lazy day at home sounds WON, DER. FUL!
ReplyDeleteLayla and Ginger....such a rough life! So so cute!
yay! it took a while for the post to load, but i can finally view it! no snow here, but it's cold so the fireplace has been earning its keep:-) beautiful photos. i also have a dog name ginger. thanks for sharing the diy spa mask too. stay warm! xx
ReplyDeletep.s. were you able to get a hold of someone from Blogger?
Oohhh I wish it snowed here too. I miss the real winter coziness, cold and fun and romantic outside, warm socks drinks chocolates hugs blankets : ) So lovely, I enjoyed this inspirational post very much : )
ReplyDeleteGood morning Leslie! I love your 'indoor gardening' idea. So clever. We rarely get even a dusting of snow where I live in Northern California but I remember lots of snow when I was in grad school in Michigan for 2 years. We recently sold our family cottage at Lake Tahoe but this post bring backs so many holiday memories with the snow all around. Nothing like a snowstorm or blizzard to bring the cozy feel indoors. Is that your beach cabana photo?? Lovely!

Leslie....it looks like it is beautiful today...the sun is shinning maybe in the 60s.....Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteWe've had snow again here too, Leslie...very cold and white ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'm all for a home spa day...perfect!
Have a good week.

Hi Leslie! Your snow day sounds marvelous and home spa is a great treat ... Will look at those products. Also, that is exciting for your daughter to be in china, I have never been(: wow she is an athlete! Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteI wear some sleek type of boots if needing to look biz like but otherwise my sorel boot! And we drive and have +15 pathways here in calgary so we don't step outside much((:
Hope your spa day will be fantastic! Hugs z
Sounds like a perfect day to me. I love a snow day if I don't have to drive in it and can get cozy indoors. xo
ReplyDeleteOh Leslie, I like days when I don't have to go out in this weather... I like sitting close the fire with cup of tea and blanket :) But sometimes I'm full of energy and I walk around the house and looking for the things to do...
ReplyDeleteI love that colorfull candlesticks!
Probably the most happy because of the weather are Ginger and Layla ;)
p.s. Every time I read about Your bath products, cosmetics, I do my own spa :) You always inspires me!
marta
Love this post. We don't get winters like you do but we'd like to experience just one day of this. Staying warm and cuddly inside with the option to go out with our puppies and play in the snow. All of your girls are just beautiful...all three of them! :-)

Hi Leslie
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Style Maniac. Sorry to hear you are having problems with your blog. Do you think it's something with the feed? If it helps, the last thing that shows on my RSS feed from Trouver Le Soleil is "Lines Allowed" -- but clicking on it comes to a page that doesn't exist. The previous post showing is the one with oranges that appears on your site.
Tech problems are so frustrating, hope you get it sorted out.
Ok Leslie, we have a LOT in common! I am taking you out for coffee soon!
ReplyDeleteHappy Love day to you and yours!
ox, Mon
I thought I had commented here but I don't see it! These photos are amazing - I love the snow! In rainy weather I often wear boots and carry my heels, so I think I will be doing a bit of that in Chicago!

My sweet LESLIE!
ReplyDeleteI have been SO BUSY with substitute teaching jobs that my regular morning routine has been interrupted; I MISSED THIS POST??????
Your blueberries look wonderful and the entire post is just gorgeous.
Thank you for stopping by my post. I wanted to clarify something and I think I should clarify it NEXT TIME I post....I translated the French song into English with WORDS and with PHOTOS only because I loved the IRONY of the story, it does not reflect my relationship with my husband! I had a feeling I was on the edge of sending the wrong impression! Because in the end, the woman's love turns cold..that is NOT my case!
Oh dear, I am going to have to explain this! But thank you for coming my sweetfriend! Anita
Hi Leslie,
ReplyDeleteYour snow day looks wonderful - all warm and cozy.
Love the thought of spa treatments at home, reading books and magazines and sitting beside a lovely fire with your sweet dogs.
Have a great weekend and stay warm
hugs
Carolyn
Good morning Leslie!
ReplyDeleteMy dear friend, I was unable to come back to comment back since I had to work yesterday at school. I don't have computer access there and last night was a LONG NIGHT of driving through traffic and the typical Friday night chores....
Oh my sweet friend, thank you for coming back; I think I crossed a "creative line" with this post of mine....I just didn't want anyone thinking I was talking about MY HUSBAND! teeehee.....I really worried when it appeared that some people may have thought I was talking about him....last thing I would want anyone to think!
So you say you are having computer problems? Several other friends are too, with Blogger. I hope this gets fixed soon; I miss you all when someone is unable to post. Enjoy your weekend and be well sweet Leslie....and I am still thinking over something you posted about several weeks ago that really got me thinking, about taking BOREDOM and allowing that to be a moment of peace. That really struck me and I need to post on that, mentioning you, of course.
MUCH LOVE! Anita
Amazing post!!i really love the pics!
ReplyDeleteMy congrats dear for your blog!

I'm so pleased I popped over here to see if you had a new post - the one showing on my blog roll is still Lines Allowed for some reason! We have had very little snow but an snowy days I like to light a few candles too and it's always a good excuse for a long hot bath enjoying a bit of pampering (as if we need an excuse!) I love the packaging of your new bath products and of course your lovely blue and white pots.

Sweet Leslie! Thank you my dear, for coming to visit today!
ReplyDeleteI need a break. I try to hard, like many of us do, and I am exhausted! But I am taking a quick flight out in March to see family. I got a chance to fly out for next to nothing thanks to a dear family member. So off to L.A. I go, to visit my old stomping grounds and family.
I wish you a happy day and truly, Koralee's book is JUST a gorgeous book filled with not only recipes, but quotes, easy party ideas and since she is a kind and lovely friend, I am so thrilled that she has published her first book. Truly, that is my ultimate goal. ONE DAY!
Love, Anita
Hi Leslie -
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty late to visit here :( Please forgive me! Thank you for your kind words and good wishes. I'm feeling much better. Even went out for fresh air and shopping yesterday :) And Mocha is recovering nicely. She has a healthy appetite again. Enjoy your break. I'll miss ya.

Sergio,
Those winter pictures are so inviting! You've really got me ready for a spa day at home.
ReplyDeleteLynn
Love those winter pictures! It's so hit here in Miami that I could use a little warm fireplace and cozy socks. And wouldn't it be nice to have French press coffee? I need to figure out how to make that because it looks yummy! XO
ReplyDeleteWe're headed to the snow right after this, even though it actually might be some rock climbing. You daughter is so pretty - she should be a model! So vibrant and full of personality too

My cafetiere is our most used kitchen implement but it is a drag cleaning the sink umpteen times a day!
ReplyDeleteApparently the coffee grounds are good for the garden my Mum says, chuck them outside
DeleteLeslie I love everything about this from the mask recipe to the lounge pants to the blue and white garden.
ReplyDeleteWe haven't been hit by a big storm in DC which makes me a bit sad but this post really helps. Have a great Day!
Not sure how I missed this Leslie!! What a great post...all you like to do on a cold wintry day are my exact favorite things too. Getting into something snuggly and warm, making my favorite comfort foods, tea and lots of good reading material..oh that is so my kind of day. The kind I dream about and get once in a great while! It all looks so good and is almost making me wish for another snow day. Almost:)
ReplyDeleteDid the computer problems get fixed? I sure hope so...miss you!
Hmm...I feel like we've
ReplyDeletesnow-dayed together,
before? In any case, it's
a fantasy that I enjoy
reliving as we certainly
don't get them for real
in MN. It would have to
be the blizzard of the
century for schools or
businesses to close!
Hope all is well. Enjoy
a cozy weekend, Leslie!

Slight chance of snow, tomorrow...just rain today. I do wear boots around in the snow. I have trashed so many shoes by wearing them out in bad weather. I also love a great indoor garden. Succulents are the only thing I can keep alive. Thanks for the "make your own" scrub. I have all of those ingredients.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, Layla and Ginger are beauties. My dad got a new springer (she is 10 months, and a handful). I am loving both pairs of boots. It has been raining here quite a bit this winter, making boots (rainboots in particular) a necessity. I got a bunch of "spa" items for Christmas...really should have my own spa party tonight cause it is raining again!!
ReplyDeleteI'm all for a good home spa! I like organizing for a home massage too where the therapist comes with everything including the mood music! We're just at the end of summer so winter and winter wardrobe is still a fair bit away. I have taken out my winter coats though - and found two red ones?! I don't even wear red! Stay warm xoxox
ReplyDeletethose are amazing things we can do when stuck at home. im here in the Philippines. we don't have winter here. but when im stuck at home because of heavy rainfall, those are lovely things I could do. i have never tried making a spa at home. i only tried to lit an incense, but im gonna try your idea ;-) and i love coffee.
ReplyDeleteLeslie, Missed your blog and just catching up with it all. I love this post and seeing your beautiful home. I love your corner office nook too. Everything is always so pretty in your home. Fun suggestions. Hope you are staying cozy up there!

Hi Leslie,
ReplyDeleteLove the story you shared on Stylemindchic about your trip to Paris~the end result was good but .... ahhhh, it's all in the adventure of travel.
Just wanted to say hope your blogger issues are being resolved quickly. I know the tech stuff can be such a hassle. I'm not real adapt so it can be frustrating. You have such a lovely blog, lovely style and are so generous to other bloggers. Just know we will all be here~can't wait until you are back online with your gorgeous inspirations for us all.

Leslie,
ReplyDeleteYou have a whole new blog design and name, how lovely! I have seen these Glassybaby candles on another friend's blog, and they are soooo pretty. I love your snow pictures. I live in Northern California, and it is getting warm during the days. So glad you have a new blog look - change is always a nice thing, isn't it? Layla and Ginger are so sweet. Happy Wednesday.

Hey pretty girl, you are such a natural on TV!! You should have your own show..like Naigella!! Thanks for the recipe, I've seen them around here and I didn't know what to do with the quinoa noodles; you see, quinoa is original from SAm. and I eat it a lot, as is not a carb like rice. I also saw many loveliness in this post. You and your daughter are movie stars, gorgeous!! How fun is snow too, I used to enjoy playing in it in NY too and why not enjoy it! I love your blog, I will be coming more often to visit. Thank you for your warm and kind comments. Big hugs,
