Winter in the pacific northwest.. I feel like a bear and want to hibernate, so naturally I turn to my bedding.
My bed (above) is full of pillows and a soft down comforter. The heat gets turned way down at night in my house because of of my hot flashes so our beds feel like little cocoons.
..still looking for something to go over my headboard.
My little side tables.. they need lamps.
A little bench in my room with a cashmere throw.
I like these baskets for towels in the shower/bath area.
My bedding is Bella Notte ..
I am thinking about adding ..
Alcott Bedding .. So pretty!! and I love the white and blue. Has anyone ordered from this company, and is it not gorgeous?!
On to my vanity! You all know that I am a revolving door with this sort of thing..
A few of my recent picks for natural cosmetics..
Jurlique .. For very dry (mature) skin.. I like the moisture rejuvenating day cream.
Tammy Fender Rose water .. a hydrating skin tonic.
Quintessential Serum:

This all-in-one age-defying superstar is our most sought after product – delivering immediate nutrition, radiance and cell renewal.

I just ordered
decleor serum. It smells wonderful and I need the aromatherapy in the winter. Check out the tutorial for application.
My lavender pillow. I use everything I can to help me relax!
Layla caught on the couch! She knows better but I was upstairs and she did not get her walk this morning.. so she is being testy!
Do you eat while you drive?
It's probably not good, but sometimes I do. Today was so busy I ended up picking lunch up while I was shopping at my local Whole Foods Market and eating it on the way home.
Quinoa, cherry tomatoes, garbonzo beans, and a spinach falafel. Sounds boring but it was really tasty and my body needs it. I've got lots of eating ahead this weekend.
..about this weekend, what are you up to?
xxleslie

Sounds like you had quite a day. Love the dog on the sofa...lol Your bedroom looks beautiful- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteLeslie - Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteWay down here in Orange Co, CA we are experiencing nearly freezing temps... our bedroom patio door is open (though not wide open as usual) and we are under down too.
Since moving here we used the forced air 2 times in two winters and chose to shut off the pilot light... have not heated in 7 years. I just pretend we are in our 80+ year old home in Tacoma, WA with the radiators on but still wearing sweaters, scarves and slippers to keep warm. No different! :-)
Wish our Gelson's had Whole Foods or even Metropolitan Market style foods to go.
Cheers!
I haven't tried Jurlique yet but heard a lot good about the products. Great post, have a wonderful weekend! xo Caroline
ReplyDeleteGood morning gorgeous Leslie!
ReplyDeleteI am in love with the softness and calm of gray and white. Your displays here promote a peace and calm that I always want in my home and your coupling this with the beauty products that also suggest refreshing our skin and bodies is a great way to start this new day! Quinoa is also a fabulous jump start to an energetic spring in my step!
Thank you for coming to join the BUNNIES for storytime! teehee

Leslie your bed is lovely and sounds so relaxing. I love Decleor products and use Aromessence Neroli when out hiking Dylan and then use Aromessence Excellence for the rest of the day is really hydrates and nourishes my aging but youth skin.
ReplyDeleteBTW than you so much for the recommendation of fish oil in my diet for the winter. It’s the first time in years I don’t have alligator skin and my hair has never been happier.
Enjoy your weekend!

Love your bedding and the lotions that you recommended! I may need to check into them and see if they would be good for me to use. Have a great weekend! XO Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteYour meal on the go looks yummy to me! Just the kind of food I like. Your bedding is beautiful! Looks like a cozy, warm place to sleep and relax. I think I need a lavender pillow!
ReplyDeleteMy skin got dry when the weather got cold (strange because I have pretty oily skin) so I've been using the oil cleansing method and washing my face with a mixture of castor oil and olive oil. It has worked wonderfully!
Hello my friend... Our furbabies do find was to let us know(remind) us that we have not meant their regular routine ... Layla looks a bit bashful and sorry - for being on the sofa.
ReplyDeleteYes, there is nothing better than wonderful bedding to slip into after a long and busy day. Your choices look fabulous - will have to check out Alcott bedding - it looks divine! Wishing you a fabulous week-end..xo Blessings, HHL
Hi Lelsie..fun post, your neutral bedroom is gorgeous, soft soothing and serene as a bedrooms should be. Then again you know I looooove monogrammed bedding so you sure get my vote! I was so happy to see the Jurlique cream, I think its one of the best I have used, super moisturizing for dry skin and I feel like in the winter it is especially great, and love the dewy look it gives our skin. I am making note of the others........going to a wine tasting dinner tonight, sons games and meeting with a potential design client. Tomorrow hopefully it will be a low key movie/dinner day! Enjoy yours!
ReplyDeleteLove your bedding and my heat has to be way down too at nights:-). Great recommendations for the beauty products.
ReplyDeleteYou have beautiful bedroom, bed with natural colors is great! I also love the baskets, I have never thought about them like that, for towels, hmmm...
ReplyDeleteWhen I've red Your post, I thought about little spa for me today :) Sleep all the winter? I say YES!
Eating in car? Only sweets! ;)
I wish You cozy, warm weekend Leslie! :)
Marta
Your bedroom looks like the perfect cozy spot to retreat to ~ love your soft neutrals and tufted headboard. Thanks for the Jurlique recommendation, much needed for the dry CO winter!
ReplyDeleteHi Leslie, my skin gets very dry in winter - I am going to look for that serum. And I have heard good things about Jurlique; maybe I will try the moisturizer as well. I love a cozy bedroom and bath, especially at this time of year as well. There is nothing better.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Phyllis
Hi Leslie, Oh Whole Foods is amazing and so is your bedroom with the natural color. I too enjoy Lavender especially lavender bath salt for relaxing.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Saturday Leslie and as always, blessings to you Leslie,

Your lunch looks divine to me! I do have some items from Leotine Linens, but not bedding . . . yet. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYour bedroom is such wonderful restful colours. And that reminds me, I need some bedside lamps too. I eat sushi in the car and it is not a pretty site I must admit. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI mean pretty sight of course. The sushi has affected my spelling...
ReplyDeleteYour bed looks like such a serene and cozy retreat. Thanks for sharing your natural skincare picks. I've been meaning to check out Jurlique's line of products.
ReplyDeleteHope you're enjoying the weekend Leslie!

It's freezing here in London too and quite a shock to the system after 12 years living in Spain ;-)
ReplyDeleteMy weekend will involve comfort food, snuggling by the fire, skin and hair pampering and lots of reading ( as we await the snow that we are being threatened with).
Have a lovely weekend Leslie xx
I will admit that I scarfed down a sandwich in the car on the way back to work last Thurs! oy.
ReplyDeleteIt is freezing here (midwest). Trying to stay warm!
your bedroom reads like a cozy welcoming retreat. who could leave? and the products! oooooh i need all that moisture now.
ReplyDeletehaving a peaceful do nothing weekend and enjoying it even though the temps outside are springlike. bella is under the weather so she has been right at my heels.

your bed makes me so excited to finally get to put mine together...I've been waiting so long..yours looks so cozy and soft! A good place to hibernate!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for popping by and for your kind words! I love your bedding. I also turn the heat back at night...I'd rather throw covers off if needed!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing what others are using for beauty care! Always inspiring.
Have a Peaceful Evening.
Leslie,
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty bedroom. The nightstands are charming.
It's been so cold here, your input on moisturizer for the skin couldn't be better timed. I appreciate a recommendation because I flit around when it comes to facial products.
This weekend I've been paring down, weeding out closets and cupboards. It feel so good to get rid of a few unused things.
Karen
Hi Leslie,
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely bedroom and comfy, cozy yet luxurious details you have added. I agree, it's cold and feels very much like my nest needs to be feathered.
I love your suggestions for skin care products. In Paris I purchased Nuxe Paris dry oil. It's for skin/hair and has a luxurious scent. Definitely needing the moisture in the deep of winter.
Happy weekend!
xx, Heather
Hi Leslie,
ReplyDeleteThe Bella Notte outlet is not too far from me and they have great sales!
Let me know if you need anything.
Love your bedroom!!
Xo
Hi Leslie,
ReplyDeleteI love your skincare suggestions; I will email you though!
Your bedding is just beautiful. Down is so, so cozy in the winter!

Hi Leslie! I love that headboard and bedding. I also LOVE to turn the heat way down so as to cozy up under lots of blankets as well.....I always have such a hard time dragging myself out of bed the next morning though!!!
ReplyDeleteWishing we had a Whole Foods closer.....loved shopping there when we were in our last place.
Low key weekend...and loving it! Hope you enjoy yours.
Your bedroom looks so inviting!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your recommendation. I'm always looking for miracle skin potions.... ;)
Happy weekend!
Leslie, I love the serene and comfortable look of your bedroom. Although I do not have hot flashes yet we love the room to be very chilly at night and then we snuggle in our feather bed and down blankets.
ReplyDeleteI have to be honest, I am lazy about skin potions. Although I take care of my skin there are some days where I cannot be bothered with more than cleansing.
Thank you for all of the tips!
Have a wonderful weekend, Elizabeth
I love the end tables and the head board. I need a new one too. What is with those night sweats> Ugh. Keep cool. haha xoxo
ReplyDeleteHi Leslie,
ReplyDeleteYour bedroom is so beautiful and love how it looks so very comfortable. As for the hot flushes, I often feel like this too and it is not a pleasant thing. I have a lavender filled pillow too and it is good to help one relax. Layla is a sweetie.
Enjoy the weekend and many thanks for visiting me
Hugs
Carolyn
Hi Leslie! Your room is gorgeous and you have inspired me to go finish mine asap! I started last year and got a bit sidetracked before christmas.our dog hops up on the sofa also and always heads for the good cushions!!
ReplyDelete~Anne
The flu has dried my skin out so thank you for the skin tips. And I really need a lavender pillow! The state that my house is in is beyond stressful!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope you and your family are all well!
I love WHole Foods, but I haven't tried this quinoa salad. It looks fantastic. We haven't had winter yet. I still have summer bedding on our beds! It's 70 degrees here, drizzling...it's been like this since the beginning of the month! Our zoysia grass hasn't gone dormant yet. Weird.
ReplyDeletexo,
RJ
We have been up to way too much this weekend, that's for certain! I'm checking out every single one of these skin products! Mainly because I trust your opinion so much! LOVE your beautiful bedroom!! LOVE the choice of what you are thinking of adding to it too! Also, loved the lunch you showed us! I have to know ( because I'm a huge falafel fan ) did you make that up or is that something they have ready to go at Whole Foods? Just curious! Also, we are watching the Seahawks right now and I sure wish I knew which cheerleader was your daughter! I saw where you wrote that on another blog…that's so fun! Hope you've had a great Sunday!
ReplyDeleteNautical is my all time favorite look.
ReplyDeleteLove your cozy bed
ReplyDeleteand bedding. Ours is
due for a make over, so
it's great to find inspiration.
Will check out he skin
products that you mention.
I wonder if they are organic?
I have been reading more
and more about the importance
of using pure products on our
bodies, free of parabens and
chemicals : ). Maybe you will
do a post about that?
Hope your weekend has
been wonderful!
xo Suzanne
Beautiful, cozy bedding. Love it...I'm needing some help with dry skin this Winter as well...need to check out these products...and you have made me hungry for lunch already and it's just 8:00. XO, Mona
ReplyDeleteYour bedroom looks gorgeous and so relaxing. We need to find a couple of lavender pillows too. Sweet Layla got caught on the couch. :-)
ReplyDeleteThought about your daughter while watching the Seahawks game yesterday. We were cheering them on (the QB is from Richmond VA like we are).
Jayme & Mendi @ Her Late Night Cravings
All looks so inviting Leslie...my beauty routine steps up a little in this weather...moisturise, moisturise...;-) not forgetting my serum.
ReplyDeleteI love my lavender pillow too.
Have a wonderful week.

Your bedroom looks so cozy...love the neutral palette. I'm going to check out all your skin recommendations......
ReplyDeleteHello Leslie,
ReplyDeleteI love your tafted headboard, your bedding too, just beautiful soft pallet of colours ....you may like this bedding also: by Matteo, www.matteohome.com, they have gorgeous fabrics, i used them for my bedding and my nook benches ...the greige tone linen like country fabric is my favourite and the oversized bolsters in our nook, also from them...great service, great packaging...
the blue and white you are looking at, it looks beautiful, the most loved colour combination, right? Not sure about the geometrical lines, probably too hotel like feel for me...or maybe the tafting and the lines together would not be my preference, and I just love your current bedding style better((:
The face cream is something I may try...the winter in Calgary is getting to me(:
Hugs Z
Your quinoa meal looks delicious! But, no, I don't drive and eat. Mainly because I don't want to get food all over the car and because I don't feel confident to do both at the same time.
ReplyDeleteI also love the neutral palette of your room!
xo,
nancy
i have EVERYTHING scented lavender - even my garbage bags! - i literally mean EVERYTHING .. obsessed a bit one may say :o) ... and i turn my heat down when i sleep - i LOVE to sleep and cuddle up under the covers, plus i think my down is just TOO heavy
ReplyDeleteLeslie, you are the second person today that uses Jurlique and loves it. I wrote my blog post on tried and true skincare products that I love. I use an oil by Lierac from Paris that is wonderful to remove make-up, you might enjoy it as well. you can check it out here when you have time....

This is my 5th blog post on skincare and aging today. I guess we all are thinking along the same vein!
HI Leslie!!!
ReplyDeleteWe have had fog, fog and more fog these past couple of days, so I know the feeling of wanting to huddle under the covers! Getting some new bedding is on my wish list this year! Considering how much time is spent there, I do believe it should be beautiful.
Hope your week is off to a great start!
xoxo Elizabeth
SO many great things in this post Leslie. Your blog is really lovely.
ReplyDeleteI loved getting these peeks into your lovely home.
Thank you so much for coming and saying hi so I could find you.
I love your blog because it is always filled with beautifully romantic things. Geez Louise, even your lunch is beautiful!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's fabulous, Leslie - just love every square inch!! Especially love the side tables ~
ReplyDeleteall the white/cream looks so soothing and inviting
ReplyDeletebrett
I like to turn down the heat at night to cuddle in bed. I could totally hibernate. The look on your pups face is priceless!! I could never manage to eat that and drive, it would end up all over me! xo
ReplyDeleteYour bed must be heavenly with that upholstered headboard and Belle Notte linens on it! I love your little side tables too... And I LOVE my Whole Foods, i get stuff like you had in that little box all the time, so yummy, but what's the deal on trying to close those boxes!!!???
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy your tips for dry and mature skin! I received a sample of the jurlique cream, and found it pretty wonderful and hydrating... i don't love the smell of it, but i love the way it hydrates, so i was tickled to see it as one of your recommendations, now i will probably buy some more! I'm totally going to look into the other items you recommended right now too! I also use this stuff that i initially purchased at Whole Foods called "Skin Eternal cream" I don't know why it works so well, but it does seem to, and it smells like wonderful like oranges... (you can buy it online cheaper than at Whole Foods) - I'm curious if you know about it.
Cindy
Hi Leslie, thank you for stopping by and best leaving a comment that joys my heart.
ReplyDeleteYour favorites sound so dreamy, and the packaging possatively invites you to feel and look....beautiful!
Eating in the car has happened to me a few times more then I want to admit, but when the rush is on and hunger takes over well what can one say.
Your bedding and headboard is perfect in tones I love so dearly. The more natural I can create around me the calm of life can take over.
See you and your beauty soon.
Xoxo
Doré
your bed looks soooo comfortable!!! love all the aesthetics here :) happy new year!
ReplyDeleteI loved this glimpse of your beautiful bedroom. I hope you show us more sometime. x Sharom
ReplyDeleteYour bed and bedroom is so beautiful! Having grown up in the Pacific Northwest, I know how important it is to create a cocoon in the winter, and to keep the palate light since the skies are so gray! ~Delores
