Choose aged, soft, firm, and blue..

...for the perfect cheese platter!

It can be small or large, with or without a centerpiece, and a bit of green garnish or fruit if you'd like.

Bread boards come in a variety of shapes and sizes and are perfect for displaying cheeses.

If I'm having a smaller group, I use my Michael Aram tray.

A good brie is something everyone enjoys. This one is delicious served at room temperature.  I tried baking it and found it didn't melt well unfortunately, so I wouldn't recommend making a baked brie with this brand.

Maytag Blue and Humboldt Fog are on hand for last minute gatherings.  A good Cheddar cheese is always in my refrigerator  for the younger palettes.

One of my new favorites! This edible flower on top of goat cheese is very nice.

There are so many crackers to choose from. Plain, thin, thick, flavored.. gluten free!

Olive bars are in many stores. There is always a large selection and you can mix and match whatever colors and flavors appeal to you.

Crunchy and salty.. :)

Add something that no one expects!

Deviled eggs are always a hit with the younger crowd. The paprika looks festive sprinkled on top.

Parmesan Crisps are easy to make and everyone enjoys them.  They are delicious  in soups too!

My home always smells like pine, cinnamon, hot apple cider, cloves and orange over the holidays.

I've been making these pomander balls since I was a kid. Once I put one in my closet and {months later} noticed a strange smell.  I'd forgotten about it.. not pretty anymore!

Linzer cookies are one of my favorite seasonal cookies.
Just a little something sweet as a snack is just what I need today.  Work has been exhausting, I've had back to back events this week, and my house is a mess so there won't be a holiday home tour, ha!

I'm ready for some quiet time.

They say we all eat too much over the holidays and that we need to take the focus off food.
Preparing food for those that we love is a gift from the heart.

Peppermint Bark is another one of my favorites!

Celebrating with food is part of our culture.  Savor the flavors, enjoy the aroma and splurging a little is okay :) Moderation works best for most.. never allowing yourself something you really enjoy may not work in the long run.

Making memories with family and friends is more important than having the perfect tree and table setting.

Tea or coffee with your cookie?
