Forcing is easy!

Hello friends!  I hope you are having a fun and productive week!

Today I'm guest posting over at Barbara's Haus Design.  If you haven't met this extraordinary designer, you must!  Inspired by traveling and living ALL over the WORLD.. Barbara as an amazing design aesthetic.  While you are visiting, make sure you check out  her on line boutique and pick up a few holiday goodies!

Friday I'll be joining blog friends over at The Enchanted Home for a little shopping fun.

 { By the way, gorgeous headers .. everywhere! Isn't this festive? }

Does it make you feel like doing a little shopping?

If you answered yes, then head over to Tina's for some wonderful holiday shopping inspiration.  If you'd like more ideas, stop by her on line store for some seriously gorgeous goodies. Tina has really worked her magic here and you will not be disappointed :)

Paper Whites...
are one of the easiest flowers to grow.  If I am able to do this, I'm SURE you will have no problem!

To have these blooming for the season.. let's get going!

Start with three items: a bowl filled with a few paper white bulbs, a watering pitcher, and a bowl of small or medium size rocks.

Add a layer of rocks to the bottom of the bowl.
Place the bulbs, roots down (mine already seem to be growing!)

Add just enough water to get the roots in water.

Place them in a spot where they will be warm and get sun light.

That's all there is to it!
Watch them grow.. and when they get tall and begin to fall over, use some twine to tie them.  I like the red and white :)

Mid-morning snack.. don't know what's gotten into me! {organic, peanut butter, chocolate chip}  .. well at least it's organic .. right? Hopefully we can let this slide just  once .. ;)

  5. Hi, Leslie - Will check out your guest posts. I love paperwhites, and need to start forcing them for our home and shop. Their flowers are so long lasting and fragrant. I've already begun my amaryllis bulbs.
    Take care,

I love Paper Whites and plant them every year.
This year, I've left it too late and can't find any bulbs left anywhere.
    I'll have to keep searching.
Hope you have a lovely day,

  30. Hardly anything is as big a treat as getting a whiff of paperwhites in the middle of winter. I thought it was all more complicated than that, and that you had to refridgerate them first... I think i will try some now! And as far as cookies for breakfast, i eat a vegan chocolate chip cookie from Whole Foods for breakfast most mornings!
