BONJOUIR!

Everything was just perfect! Just a quick post to share a couple photos.

Our hotel was wonderful and the location worked well for us.

Pretty and very comfy accommodations.

Our view!

Our breakfast spot.

These herbs were growing along the window of the courtyard.

A few pictures of the lobby. I spoke with the interior designer (that just happen to be there!) and was told that all the green was supposed to help bring the outdoors - inside.

Weary travelers stopping for lunch.
So here's what happened.. After 24 hours of traveling I couldn't wait to shower and wash my hair. Being the experienced travelers that we are.. my husband packed an adapter ..for things like a flat iron for my hair. Upon plugging it in, I blew a circuit and my iron sort of blew up and we lost power in our room (.... that crazy American woman did what?) A text message was immediately sent to my kids that said something like.. "you wouldn't believe what your mom just did" ..
My hair was a disaster as you can see, so after a little lunch.......

...I came upon this! Yep, had my hair done and I highly recommend the experience.

He spoke no English and everything turned out perfectly!

Early to bed, early to rise and I had to have a crepe immediately!

Crawling out of bed and heading straight to the nearest espresso stand.

A quick walk back to the hotel.

I couldn't resist this scene. These children were adorable.

We had a crazy whirl-wind trip and I'm still suffering from a little jet lag.  On an unfortunate note, my luggage has been missing .. with all my little Paris treasures and other personal items. We received news that it MAY be headed home but have yet to see it - so stay tuned.

Up next, my favorite restaurant in Paris!

Looking forward to getting caught up on all my favorite blogs over the weekend!

xx
leslie

  5. Leslie, snafues and all it looks like it was wonderful! Hair isn't a prolem in Paris just be a fashion plate with a hat, something you get away with better in Paris then the US. Your hotel looked like it was wonderful and will have to keep it for further reference.

Welcome back and I can't wait to see more!

  7. Dear Leslie
Your trip was perfect! With beautiful places, views and adventures! Hotel is perfect, good to know! Especially bedroom and a breakfast spot, so romantic :) You have such a beautiful hair, that you can always let them be natural. It's popular in Europe, but I know... Paris obliges ;)
    best wishes

  8. Welcome back Leslie! It wouldn't be a vacation if you didn't have some tales to tell but it looks like you had a wonderful trip, electrical issues aside. French crepes are the best aren't they :)

    Have a fab weekend!

  9. Bonjour Leslie. It sounds as if we were in Paris at the same time. We returned last Thursday... The weather was on and off, but ok overall. I hear it has gotten a lot worse since. Nice - where I stayed for a week - might be a better option next time you want to "chercher le soleil!" :-) Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

  19. Your pics are amazing Leslie, I went to Paris when I was a teen but definitely didn't appreciate it as much as I should have. I love your view and that you took pics of the room because I'm always curious how they look. And the story about the electrical outlet is so funny, I can just picture that happening. :)

  24. Leslie…I'm so glad you stopped by my very long blog post! You were sweet to comment! I've loved reading about your trip to Paris! It makes me want to go back RIGHT now and I HATE to fly! My mother did just this same thing a few weeks ago in Germany with her hairdryer! I would be lost without my flat iron! In reality…I would just be really curly! Which is ok at the beach…but Paris???? Your view was beautiful and looked like ours from the Lancaster! I wonder if they are close by each other?! I'm so glad you had a good trip even after the flight and the blow up with the fuse! Oh well!!! Que sera sera!!! ( or so they say!) Can't wait to read more of your posts! Have a wonderful week!

  25. Oh Leslie I have so often been that crazy American woman who has blown a fuse in Parisian hotels! No joke. I finally after like 4 trips to Paris decided to go to Sephora on the Champs Elysee and bought a hairdryer that worked. Unfortunately it didn't make my hair quite as straight as I prefer but it helped somewhat :)

Looks like you had an incredible time though. Can't wait to hear more and I hope that your luggage is back safe & sound. Welcome back! xoxo

  32. Not a good hair day :)))) But you see, the Parisian girls looks so nice just because they do not pay attention to their hair (well, they do, but you always think that they don't, wink). Lovely escape you had, Leslie! :*

  36. You had me at crepes with Nutella!!! There is nothing better than a crepe in Paris! I lived about 5 hours from Paris in Germany and when company would come I would always tell them to leave their curling irons and things at home. One friend and I met up in Scotland and she plugged in her curling iron. The thing actually melted!!! You have to love different voltages!! Beautiful shots and how fun to have your hair done in Paris!
