.. and in my kitchen, a pop of yellow in an otherwise neutral space. Yellow is such a happy color and is perfect with white.

..and here, thinking this was a succulent, it's oregano!! .. snuggled up with a little blue and white and exuding a delicious sweet summer fragrance.

Don't you love the relaxed feel of summer? As a young Mom, it was important to me that my kids weren't over-scheduled. There were days when we decided to stay in our pajamas all day, paint on our mural, and bake cookies. Summer is about making memories.

Hope your summer is off to a great start!

  2. Beautiful images. White can be so calm and easy to live with. I also tried not to over schedule my children or my self. We always need a P.J. day once in awhile.

  5. Look at how beautiful your children were (and love that pic with your daughter). I can't get enough of white, especially as I'm hunting down a pair of good white trousers that aren't see-through....

  6. These were my thoughts while browsing your post, "Oh, those stockings are so cute! I NEED a powdered doughnut. Why don't I have a gold oval mirror like that? Leslie hasn't aged a bit. I agree... kids are way to over scheduled these days! I wonder if I could get away with staying in my p.j.'s all day?!" hee hee Love sunflowers for the kitchen!! xo

mom days back : ) Now
    my summers are spent
    shuttling the kids around,
although I do try to weave
    in some down time, too!

Just broke out my white jeans

  24. Lovely white pictures, I have always wanted to have the perfect body for the white jeans, but I am a lover of those donuts and other sweats, so I think I will never be so fit for them. But a white dress will do! Have a lovely day, Leslie :*

  25. Lovely photos! Gorgeous yellow flowers too! They do make you happy! Growing up my mom let us fully enjoy the summer. We didn't have every day filled with stuff to do. My mom was a believer in just being at home some days. And because of that i'm like that as an adult. Some weekends I look forward to a non-scheduled weekend at home. :-)

Love your thoughts on motherhood. I just sent my oldest son to sleep away camp and I am determined to make the most of this special time with my youngest!
