A trip to a brocante is on my to do list. This console resting on a Persian carpet is gorgeous with perfect patina.

I consider FRENCH ESSENCE to be a perfect prerequisite prior to visiting France. Beautiful photographs by Carla Coulson, of Provencal towns, gardens, and landscapes illustrating what Vicki terms 'French sense'.
What are your traveling plans for the summer?
A quick game of Where's Waldo before I sign off. Look who was watching me make coffee this morning!

Leslie,
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky!!! Love to go to Belgium too. I cannot wait to see your photos and hear all about it. Great photos. Makes me want to go now. One of my favorite places to eat in Paris is Rose Bakery. They are open for lunch and breakfast and are famous for scones. They have a cookbook too. If I remember correctly it's near Jardin du Luxembourg.

ReplyDeleteI bet you just can't wait!! So exciting and you know we can't wait to see some photos since we have never been. :-) My husband and I are going to the Dominican Republic next month for my cousins wedding. I can't wait to get there and totally go into relaxation mode.

I am just so jealous right now! My heart is beating faster from all these photos So exciting!
ReplyDeleteHey Leslie ~
ReplyDeleteYou will have a F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S time!! Brugge is so beautiful and charming. If you visit Brussels, see the Grand Sablon...elegant, chic and yet, old world. I love the pastries and chocolate at Wittamer. They have a charming and elegant cafe upstairs serving lunch, coffee, pastries.....on tables with white cloths. Not many people know about the upstairs cafe. Lots of antiques shops in Brussels. I don't think it's possible to have bad food in Paris?? Well, maybe it is :-) I don't know if you speak/read French, but many of the menus are still only in French. Hope you will blog and share your trip with us!
Cheers,
Loi

ReplyDeleteHOW WONDERFUL!! Enjoy every minute and morsel!
ReplyDeleteOh la la! lucky lucky lucky - how fabulous. I don't have a favourite restaurant so I can't wait to see which one you like the best. Paris is just the best break ever, just wandering around the Marais and looking in at all the new and different designers was my favourite, as well as the walking tours. Can't wait to see your posts on this!
ReplyDeleteWow! You lucky girl! Brugge is so beautiful and j'adore Paris aussi!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your trip Leslie! I've not been to paris in about 3 years but the last time I was there I enjoyed my dining experience inside the Renault Car Dealership on Champs Elysees. it's upscale restaurant on the 2nd floor overlooking the car dealership/giftshop and after you eat, you can look at the renault cars...it's really cool concept.
ReplyDeletehave a lot of fun on your trip!! hmmm laduree... so good!
ReplyDeleteOhhhh such a great holiday plan, it will be so nice to watch your holiday pix. With all the walking you will do, you can eat macarons 3 times a day : ) And how much I missed the French breakfast, the pastry the butter : ) Brugge is another town I would love to return. And you had great company at breakfast, lucky you : )
ReplyDeleteThis is cruel! I want to go, need a companion/tour guide? LOL...you are going to have such an amazing time!!!! I will email you with a few suggestions, we were in Belgium about 10 years ago, absolutely gorgeous! I look forward to hearing about your plans as they unfold....lucky lady!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you have found some amazing highlights! We absolutely loved Brugge! Don't miss the canal tour - it's touristy but the views and the architecture were so charming!
ReplyDeleteoh what a lovely upcoming trip! enjoy it!

ReplyDeleteOh, Leslie, how nice to visit Brugges and Paris at the same time, it will be so nice. I dream to visit Brugges for 2 years now...and my favorite restaurant in Paris is "Chez Philippe", it's close to Seine and it has a splendid view. Have a lovely weekend, Leslie!
ReplyDeleteParis is the perfect destination to celebrate your anniversary! And a stop in Belgium too... wow! Surely it will be a feast for your eyes as well as your stomachs. I couldn't stay away from Pierre Herme and Laduree in Paris myself :)

ReplyDeleteI wish I had a favorite Parisian restaurant to suggest for you, but that would require a previous trip to Paris. Ha! ;) In the meanwhile, I'll definitely be watching out for any recommendations you have and adding them to my Paris bucket list.
ReplyDeleteMy husband & I will be going to San Francisco for six days in September. We're so excited to explore a new city and take in everything that it has to offer. It can't get here soon enough!
