Today while I was shopping I couldn't resist these roses.
Flowers and chocolate brighten this day.
Truffles
I bought my favorite granola and placed it in jar for quick access on those busy work day mornings.
I always love the way my fresh organic greens look when I bring them home. Steamed, in salads, or soups - drizzled with lemon and olive oil .. yummy.
Aren't these little bites cute? My daughter is taking finals in Accounting today at the University. She is exhausted and a little stressed, so I bought her these.
We watched Notting Hill this weekend. Entertaining story line - I really liked Hugh Grant's character and Julia Roberts has this amazing ability to talk with her eyes.

At least once a week I roast a chicken. So simple, warms up the house, and smells delicious while cooking. Serve with a nice bottle of wine, warm bread or potatoes, a cooked vegetable or salad, and you're set!
Potatoes are delicious with chicken - peel, boil for about 6 -8 minutes and add to your roast while cooking. I also salt them and add olive oil.
I heat my oven to about 475 degrees and cook the chicken for about 20 minutes.. then lower to about 350 degrees for about an hour and continue cooking until the top is golden brown and the legs are ready to fall off.

Gwen Paltrow has a delicous roast chicken recipe in her cookbook.
I couldn't resist sharing this picture of my girls. Ginger is almost twelve and Layla (top) is six months. They are resting after a long hike in the mountains today. What a life..........
I'd love to hear about your weekend! Are you getting any spring weather? Did you watch a movie, make a special meal, or enjoy a good book?
xx

Yummy food! Love those cupcakes :)))) Hope you had a wonderful weekend & your week will be fantastic too :) xx
ReplyDeleteLove seeing little peeks into your world. Those flowers are gorgeous!! Cupcakes in small bites are less guilt provoking. I love to make a roast chicken. I like to brush mine with olive oil and squeeze lemons on top. So simple but so good. Your new profile photo is gorgeous. xo
ReplyDeleteYour weekend sounded perfect and close to what I did...relax with my family and hiked Dylan dog. Those flowers are a small touch of heaven and next time I buy roses its going to be a mix of colors. Don't peel your potatoes you're peeling away all the vitamins just scrub and rinse and covered with olive oil and salt...perfection!

ReplyDeleteBonjour. I am a new reader, and so happy I stopped by today. The weather in Seattle is ghastly, windy, cold, rainy. We have it all. It happens to be my birthday, and your blog helped me celebrate in style. Cheerful and bright, with pretty flowers, good food, and two cute dogs. Merci beaucoup! Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

ReplyDeleteHI LESLIE DARLING! You are so pretty! I love your new profile pic!
ReplyDeleteOooooh, your pups are so sweet. I could lay down just like that TONIGHT for this daylights savings time took me by surprise! AND that roast chicken? I made one this way that was UNBELIEVABLY YUMMY:
take a roaster like you have done......
take one lemon and puncture holes in it.
place in the cavity of the chicken and with a toothpick, close up chicken.
slather the outside of the chicken with olive oil.
Roast for about 1.5 hours our 375.
Be ready for melt-in-your-mouth goodness. Serve with roasted red and yukon gold potatoes!!!!!!
LOVE YOUR ORGANIC veggies. I believe in eating colorful food and you have a lovely palate of fabulous things! Now off to go eat dinner! Thank you so much for visiting today! Anita
Leslie .. thank you so much for visiting and lovely comments. I'm catching up on visits and reading. And the tip for keeping granola handy, this girl is definitely going to bore that one!!
ReplyDeleteWishing your daughter a wonderful out come in her accounting exams!! and she will certainly be appreciating the treats you thoughtfully got her.
Your furbabies ... would have so much fun playing with our Stella (she is a yellow lab ~ 9 years) and our little Dolce (Yorkie by the tea trolley, he will be 3 in April).
This week-end we finally hit double digits , but not quite enough to melt away all the snow .. hopefully by week's end. wishing you a fabulous week blessings, C. (HHL)
